OLD WORLD wine from NEW WORLD vines
Update 1-10-20: Our 2016 Sangiovese was awarded a Silver Medal at the 2020 San Francisco Wine Competition.
At Vannatta Wine we specialize in hand-crafted, small-lot wines of limited production and exceptional quality. Comprised of our estate grapes and those selectively sourced from the finest of vineyards, we produce both single vineyard bottlings and inspired, balanced blends. We are dedicated to producing our New World wines using Old World, non-interventionist methods of winemaking.
It was in the spring of 2005 when our first planting of estate wines were established. Here at Vannatta Wine you will find a winery that hasn't succumbed to commercialism, where tastings are still free with purchase, and where you'll have intimate access to the wine making process and winemakers. We invite you to visit, taste our wines, and see what our passion is all about.
Our production allows a look into varieties on a level of purity - unblended varietals, to intriguing variations of compatible varieties blended together. With our small lot selections, based upon the concept of traditional European blends and inspired others, cuvées that are given substantial french oak barrel aging, the wines become truly complex and unique. Wines more interesting than any single-varietal component. Read more about or ideals and winemaking philosophy.
In addition to our Estate Vineyard, we curate our family of small-lot growers from Amador, El Dorado and Placer Counties, Lodi, Livermore and the Capay Valley; that collectively showcase the diversity of this great wine-growing region.
We offer a unique experience with our Tasting Room located in our working winery. Visitors can often get a peek into what goes on and can always enjoy our casual patio and bar with a bocce court, corn hole and picnic tables. We look forward to seeing you!
